Today i have a question for you….Are you doing what you are meant to do?
I believe people have so much to offer. God has input in every one of us something that is unique to you. Some thing that if you pursue it, will lead to be a solution to some else’s problem. You see even before you were a thought in your mother’s womb, God knew you. And He input in you a purpose.
Let’s put a pin on that word for a minute. Purpose. What is purpose? How do you know if you are living in purpose. Pastors and preachers love stating this word. But what does it really mean?? How do you know if you are living in purpose? Everybody, be it young or old, rich or poor is looking, searching for that elusive inner peace that the great Yogis and the Mahatma Gandhi’s and Mother Teresa’s of this world are talking about. How do you achieve it? This is where I can stand tall ( yes, I am allowed to say that even at my 4 feet 11 inches height) and proclaim to the world about My faith. You see, I am a Christian. I absolutely and utterly love Jesus and because of that, by The grace, i am trying to live a righteous life. When you receive Jesus Christ into your life, you invite the Holy Spirit into your life. And this is where it gets more interesting…The Holy Spirit can and will reveal what your purpose is. You see, purpose is not just for yourself. Purpose is not the job you have or the work you do. Yes, it can encompass that but purpose is much much greater. Purpose has the ability of not just influencing you and your life but more people and the generation to come.
I’ll give you an example. Take a look at Hannah in the Bible. She strongly desired to have a child. She prayed so hard til the priest at that time Eli thought she was drunk. But she was presenting her problems and desires to God. I can only imagine her life. Here she was, unable to have children with her husband while the co-wife is having them by the boatloads. So as per science today, we know the husband is OK. She was the one with the problem. Gosh, i can only imagine how tough life was for her. How prideful the co-wife must have been. The snide comments and just plain meanness towards her. But she held firm in her God. And when finally God gave her her heart’s desire, she did not just give birth to 1 child. She had another and another and another. When God decides to open up the floodgates of heaven to pour blessings on you, nothing can stop it. The bible says He is able to sow Himself strong in your weakness. Hallelujah! I serve a mighty God. Anyway I am digressing. So where was i..oh yes, Hannah and her son Samuel.
Samuel served Israel in 3 different capacities. He was a judge…in the times before Kings, wise judges would be consulted to solve conflicts within the people, offer council and all that. So he was a judge, a priest and also a prophet. He was the one who transitioned Israel to a monarchy state. He anointed the 1st king of Israel, King Saul and also anointed King David. King David through his lineage, the man after God’s heart ,we got Jesus the Messiah. And through Jesus Christ we are all saved.
Now that is purpose. You are not just created for yourself. All those selfish demands you make to your creator, to the people around you just show that you are not living in purpose. I truly believe to live in purpose means living to serve. In what capacity? Well, the Holy Spirit has to reveal that to you. And if you ask me, How?, I will answer you. Seek Him with all your heart. Sit down by yourself in a quiet environment and dive dip down yourself and ask. I promise you He will answer. He answered me…that’s how i started this blog. I am not sure who this blog will touch but i am living in my purpose. Living in purpose has nothing to do with money. Heck, i had to find a free website to be able to write. I write down my inner thoughts, My christian journey and faith. My perspective as a 21st century girl and how I think God helps us. The beauty is that no matter what you go through, you can always infer from the Bible. Yes, the challenges may be different from those of Biblical times, but i assure you the Holy Spirit is up to date. I can only speak of how i knew it was the Holy Spirit. He spoke to me with my own voice. I heard myself speak. So how do you differentiate between your own words and that of the Holy Spirit? Well, the words of the Holy Spirit will always coincide with what the Bible says. If it does not, then my dear you are probably communicating with other kinds of spirits. the bad kinds.
The words of The Holy Spirit will always be true. You will be courageous to say it in front of a crowd. He tells you to do something and provides a means to do it. Because He is your provider. God cannot help but provide for you. He wants to provide for you even before you ask. But that’s a key word. You need to ask. He says my people will seek me and they will find me. Whatever it is, I assure you God has a solution Nothing is a surprise to Him.
So my dears, find your purpose. It doesn’t have to be glamorous but i know you will have that inner peace. Not only that but you will be able to accomplish so much more than what you are currently doing. Have a conversation with your creator and He will lead you to your true authentic self. I will stop for now. Otherwise i can write and write all day long…and my lunch break is over and have to get back to work.
Until next time, be blessed. And may the grace of the Lord Jesus, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you now and forever Amen.
